I Can’t Wait For Spring and Summer.

Jon Foreman of Switchfoot has been putting out some solo EPs. This is the Cover of the Fall EP and the Winter EP Dual Package.
I had heard that it was too intimate for the San Diego Rock stylings that Switchfoot has formulated so well, so I was wondering if I’d like the sound.
Doesn’t sound much like them at all save for the growly scratchy personal vocals of Jon. Songs like “Behind Your Eyes” carry a pinky-toe tapping cheeriness, while “I’m Still Running” paradoxically has a somber melodic drag, and “In Love” creates neo-oriental tones. There is such an honesty and openness to these two discs. I am always amazed to see when people can unabashedly be followers of Christ without bashing people’s faces in with the shovel of righteousness, and to me there is no question where hearts align in this album.
