February 23, 2009Better Stimulation
January 28, 2009I am reffering to the Economic Stimulus Plan. It’s Called a Tax Holiday.
Rather than have a plan to stimulate the economy which includes spending for:
- Swimming Pools
- Arts funding
- Contraception programs
- Sports stadiums
- Parking garages
More Complete list here
A 6 month Tax Holiday is more practical.
“The government [still] prints $800 billion to replace the lost tax revenue needed for ordinary government expenses while people are spending the money they earned to stimulate our economy. Plan adds $800 billion in additional debt. [Just as it would in the plan as it is now.]”
The differences is that “we the people” would have the control of the way the money is spent.
We need to do this.

Do We Even Know?
March 14, 2008“Democracy must be something more than two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner” – James Bovard
I have been wondering if “we the people” know the difference between a democracy and a republic. And likewise the difference between a democratic-republic.
Also, as I realize how ambiguous the word “change” can be, I’d like to know what that change entails. What are we going to change and how? And why? “Change…hope… and progress” are powerful words as we all apply and imply our own definitions and reactants. We are hiring a president, not a poet.
That’s Devotion
March 12, 2008Johnny Depp has really thrown himself into his role. I can’t believe this, I know Christian Bale got a little skinny in The Machinist, but this seems a little extreme for Johnny. Apparently he plays Leroy McElroy in “Arkansas Bullets.” Crazy. I bet he will still do a great job.
